 Creating the change we want to see

Accompanied by Laurianne Aune (TBS 2021), Maxence decided to create Menone in parallel to their last year of master.  

Maxence loves beautiful clothes and dressing well but he is frustrated not to be able to dress as he wishes because his budget limits him in his choices. The idea for Menone emerged one summer evening in 2019 when he shared his personal frustration with a friend of his, Robin Masson, also a student at TBS (2022) and a lover of beautiful pieces.  

At that time, he started an Instagram account on which he talked about clothes and quickly noticed that he was not the only one frustrated.

Getting (well) dressed should not be so restrictive

The current solutions to this frustration are limited: buy clothes that last for three washes, hunt for hours to buy beautiful second-hand pieces or save up for several months to buy a well-made piece that is at least a little respectful of the planet and people.

A few months later, the Uyghur scandal broke and the fashion industry was singled out. It is the second most polluting industry in the world. It's not surprising, we consume twice as much clothing as we did 15 years ago and yet the reality is that we still wear the same clothes and our dressing room is full of pieces that we no longer wear because fashion and our tastes change.

What if there was an alternative ?
Renting.

We rent our car, our holiday home, our movies, ... so why not our clothes?

In September 2020, Maxence talks about his idea to Laurianne, a friend he met at TBS. She was inspired by the idea of offering a positive alternative for people and the environment. Together, they joined the TBSeeds incubator and were coached by Arnaud Thersiquel, TBS 2013.

Renting is a simple solution that allows you to renew your wardrobe regularly with a wide choice of brands, to access quality pieces for the price of a gym membership and to try new pieces in everyday life before possibly deciding to buy them. 

It's also an alternative that allows you to dress the way you want, extends the life of your clothes and makes quality affordable.

After several months of work studying the market, building the business plan and defining their offer accompanied by test customers, they launched their website on October 01, 2021.

The challenge seems to have been met!

Choose your clothes, wear them unlimitedly, send them back and start again. Rent between 1 and 5 pieces, keep them as long as you like and buy the ones you want to keep. Delivery, professional dry cleaning and insurance against minor accidents are included in every subscription package so you can enjoy it with a light heart.

With no commitment, you can stop the subscription whenever you want.
