♻The Clean Project: The 1st festival to combine sport & culture for the planet!

18 June 2024 Community

Did you know that a cigarette butt alone pollutes 500 liters of water?

It's the leading cause of ocean pollution, even ahead of plastic waste.
In France alone, between 30 and 40 billion cigarette butts are thrown on the ground every year. The consequences for the planet are disastrous. And we can, each in our own way, contribute to changing this situation.

That's the mission of The Clean Project.
An association co-created by Flavien Thouroude (TBS Education 2020), which fights against cigarette butt pollution.

The idea was born during the "Eco Sport Challenge", a race to collect cigarette butts organized by Bryan Canterro (a former top-level 1500m athlete). A golden opportunity to combine physical activity and environmental awareness.

In just two years, the event has gone from strength to strength! The creation of the association became a logical next step to support the cause and multiply impactful initiatives.

May 2024: The Clean Project association is born.

"With The Clean Project, we want to create a positive-impact citizen movement and organize an environmental festival focused on sport and culture. This is a 1ʳᵉ in France. Our aim is simple, to mobilize as many citizens as possible and promote innovative solutions for a cleaner future." - Flavien

Who are they?

Spurred on by their president Pierre-Ambroise Bosse, an internationally renowned athlete (World Champion in the 800m in 2017) and fervent defender of the environment, The Clean Project is first and foremost a group of friends who want to make a difference.

Their names are Pierre-Ambroise, Bryan, Angélique, Thomas, Nicolas and Flavien.

They are free spirits, convinced that action is as much about the individual as the collective. They like to get things done, and get things done.
Sport, party, life.

And today, they need your help,
To put an end to cigarette butts and give them a second life by recycling them into street furniture or pocket ashtrays .

How can we help? With a simple contribution on Ulule! ✅

1 contribution = 1€.
It may seem like a small thing to you, but to them it means a lot .

"We need your help to finance our first festival in Lyon, on October 18 and 19, on the mythical Place Bellecour." - Flavien

The funds raised will be used to:

  • Organize the two-day event,

  • Finance the partner village (exhibitors & change agents),

  • Recover all the cigarette butts collected during the weekend of action,

  • Unite our first members and build their loyalty so that they can become agents of change alongside us.

"We remain available for any further information or to discuss the subject. Together, we can make a difference and create a butt-free future!"

- Flavien and his team
