Face mask factory in Marseille launched by TBS Alumni
Michael Caroff (TBS 2012) has been an entrepreneur since he left the School and has co-created Masque XIX with the aim of ensuring a 100 % French manufacture line.
The ambition of Masque XIX® is to provide an efficient and longterm response to the challenge of manufacturing face masks in France :
- In the short term, for citizens by making masks out of printed fabric that are washable and reusable.
- In the medium term, for health establishments, public entities, associations and businesses by manufacturing disposable FFP-2 surgical masks.
In the coming weeks, Masque XIX® will open the manufacturing plant in Marseille. The entire mask production will be 100% made in France, with the support of a specialized couturier and automated production lines.
The masks for the general public can be personnalised : customers will have the choice of a wide range of prints. These high quality and perfectly finished face masks will be will be washable just like any other piece of clothing.
To achieve this goal, Masque XIX® will be launching a fundraising campaign on KissKiss BankBank in the next few days. The price for a washable, reusable French face mask will be 10€, and the objective is 20 000 advance orders.
What will the funds be used for ?
- Manufacture and deliver the reusable fabric face masks for the general public
- Invest in the first industrial production line.
This first production line will produce up to 12 million FFP-2 face masks per year. Their objective is to reach 30 million face masks per year in 3 years time.
