Elie ALTER (TBS 2020) - Get access to retail clothing stocks thanks to O-ben

O-ben is the marketplace for luxury shops to offer new clothing with up to 70% off.

The marketplace, O-ben, gives access to the stocks of clothing retail shops and luxury clothing brands. The platform was launched in June by Elie (TBS 2020) and his two business partners, Raphaël etand Charles. The 3 young men from Toulouse are supported by TBS's incubator and Occitania region.

It only takes a couple of minutes to find clothing bargains and support French shops at the same time ! The founders are fully aware of consumers' strong attachment to their local shops. In this way, it is possible to get access to exclusive offers on the shop's stocks, from the tranquility of their own homes.

A project to support local shops 

This platform offers shops the chance to make up for low sales by giving access to their stocks for the maximum amount of shoppers. Moreover, if a customer lives near a partner shop, orders can be collected through the Click&Collect service, and can get a preview of new collections at the same time. In France, there are over 2000 shops that O-ben would like to sign up to their platform, which would give them the opportunity for an additional sales channel and increase their internet presence. In 2019 and 2020, these shops have suffered an average 30% reduction in sales and their low e-commerce visiblity could not compensate for this loss. 

End-collections already available

In only 3 weeks, 3 shops in Paris and Toulouse, that are very enthusiastic about the project, have digitalized part of their stocks on o-ben.fr. Roughly 40 brands are already available, including Armani, CP Company, Neil Barrett, Burberry, Dsquared2, Kenzo, Paul Smith, or Zegna. Progressive deployment will means that more partner shops and popular brands can be added.

All products are authentic, new, checked and come from successful shops. O-ben has negotiated the prices and their are very attractive. It is possible to find models that are no longer on sale. More shops will be available in the coming months. The platform is undergoing constant improvement and welcomes any feedback. 

A new way of purchasing responsibly 

The founders are very keen to preserve the environment and are making every effort to fight against the disadvantages of fast fashion while respecting consumers' wishes. Over and above the support provided to shops, O-ben provides the means of revalorizing textiles, thus reducing destruction or transporting clothing to other sectors all over Europe or the world. Every year, for example, France exports 171.000 tons of unsold clothing, half of which goes to Africa. On o-ben.fr, consumers buy new clothing that already exists and therefore reduces the constant manufacture of new items of clothing.
