Eva MELIX: An inspiring voice for students
Eva Melix (PGE 2022) has followed a career path combining a passion for events and social commitment. Founder of the NGO Oddyssée, she uses her skills to support impact projects. Her experience at TBS Education played a key role in her determination to create Debrief, a digital medium dedicated to school and career guidance.Through her initiatives, she continues to inspire and guide students towards their ambitions.
Formative years at TBS Education
Eva' s main reason for choosing TBS Education was the opportunity to work-study for the entire duration of the Grande Ecole Master's program. This opportunity enabled her to combine theory and practice, enriching her experience while offering her a degree of financial independence.
She is also involved in several associations, such as Trophée des Arts and PRISM. These experiences have enabled her to develop key skills, notably in financial canvassing and communications.
"I chose the Trophée des Arts because I wanted to pursue a career in cultural or sporting events. I love these worlds where you meet people, pass on information to the public and create memories."
The creation of an NGO, Oddyssée, as a means of emancipation
After leaving TBS Education, Eva moved to South America and founded the NGO Oddyssée. This decision stemmed from her desire to live new experiences abroad and put to good use the skills she had acquired during her studies.
"Because of my financial difficulties, I couldn't take a gap year or go abroad... So once I graduated, I took my gap year. "
Oddyssée is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and putting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into practice. Eva and her team seek to raise awareness of these issues in an engaging and positive way. Their mission is twofold: to raise public awareness of the SDGs via social networks, and to put these themes into practice through projects such as recycling, quality education and the reduction of inequalities.
For her, the creation of Oddyssée goes beyond a simple entrepreneurial project. Thanks to this adventure, Eva has the opportunity to work on concrete projects, manage a team and create a positive social impact.
"It's given me the opportunity to be an entrepreneur without risk, to develop my skills enormously, and to have an incredible experience that's flexible and adapted to my desires! I've gained a huge amount of confidence in myself, in the quality of my work and my ability to overcome obstacles."
Debrief: A podcast to help young people find their bearings
Eva then founded Debrief, a podcast dedicated to helping high school and university students navigate their educational and career paths. Young graduates share their experiences and talk unfiltered about topics such as the energy transition, artificial intelligence, committed entrepreneurship, and the difficult choices between salaried employment and entrepreneurship.
Each episode features authentic exchanges: inspiring life stories, practical advice and tips on topics such as financing your studies, finding an internship and expatriation.
Eva, who has faced similar obstacles herself, wants to offer a source of inspiration and support to those who don't necessarily have the tools or the network to make informed choices.
Debrief aims to make guidance more accessible by removing taboos and helping young people make informed decisions about their future, while sharing stories that show success is within everyone's reach.
Advice for students
For Eva, nothing is more important than :
- Expand your network: "Meet people outside your own circle. It broadens your horizons and opens doors."
- Have student jobs: "Always have student jobs to learn the basics of the professional world. Show determination and curiosity.
- Test professional experience: "Choosing an internship or professional experience is not decisive. Don't hesitate to try things out to find yourself.
- Believe in yourself: "Break codes to stand out. Be confident in your abilities.
