What is your name and where do you come from?
My name is Elliot Montag and I was born in the South of France. Right now I am Germany and no, I didn't intend to avoid lockdown, although I admit I appreciate the timing.
What is your program and your major?
I am actually in my third year in Management so I will finish my bachelor's degree in 2021. I hesitated alot about which final channel to choose. Finally I chose Digital Business, mainly due to the fact that I have been working in this sector for several years to pay for my studies.
How would your best friend describe you?
That is quite a tough question, putting yourself in their shoes and imagining what they think..
Nevertheless, I have already been asked this question in a job interview so I will try to give my best answer and be as objective as possible. In my opinion, my friends think of me as hyperactive, never stopping between my studies, work to pay for them and my hobbies. It is most likely that they would talk about my passion for international travel.
Before starting at Toulouse Business School I had never been outside of France. Today, I am happy to have been able to visit more than ten countries and several continents for travel and work, including America and China during my studies. My friends would probably add that I am a person driven by passion. As for the rest, I am simply a business school student who knows how to make the most of it.

Were you part of a project that you would like to share with us?
In the scope of this TBS Alumni portrait, it is probably pertinent to talk about TBS's association that I was in contact with for my work. In fact, for several years now I have been working for a marketing agency based in America and China in order to pay for my studies. As part of this experience, I was in charge of recruiting a team of approximately 6 people for a project. My company worked with EasyJob who helped us set up a recruitment campaign.

I was able to recruit TBS students and it was great to work with them for several months. It was my way of giving back for other students. Since I had received a scholarship from the Foundation, I know just how important it is to give students work opportunities.
Can you tell us more about your work in the marketing agency?
I absolutely knew I wanted to study at TBS right from my last year at school. My parents could not help pay for my studies so I had to look for solutions. Finally, thanks to all the experience I gained in different online companies and my previous work with the marketing agency, this company offered me employment. One of my best memories was going to work in the Peking branch of the company for three weeks. I discovered an entirely new culture and it was a great learning experience, both on a personal and professional level.

Moreover, I now have three years' professional experience in digital marketing. I am delighted about that because I have just been given a permanent position in Germany. From March, I move to Germany to start working for the 5th largest smartphone manufacturer worldwide at their European headquarters in Dusseldorf.
Tell Alumni about what you would like to do later on. How are you going about making it happen?
For many years I dreamed of working in the tech industry. I thought really hard about whether to go on to do a master's degree (I was accepted at the Cologne Business school in Germany) or to start working. Today, I am so happy to have found the answer to my question and make my dreams come true.
To make this dream come true, I simply used a tool we all know about: LinkedIn.
After I had a brief exchange with the Vice-President for Europe in the company I was interested in, I send in an application and got a job offer. That was my dream and now I am working in the tech sector for a company that has very innovative smartphone technology and is already the 5th largest worldwide, without even being in the European market. Its a terrific challenge for me to have accepted this offer, move to Germany and start in a new company in the role of Social Media Management for all of Europe.

Bearing in mind that you have access to the TBS Alumni network, in what way would you want support in the scope of your work?
In my case, I would like it if the TBS Alumni network had a place to meet students who are working in many different areas. We could all learn from each other and provide mutual support by being part of the same "TBS Family".
Apart from the rankings, what made you want to come to TBS ?
I made my decision to study at TBS after reading and re-reading everything on the website, after meeting the Promo Team at fairs and after the open day. It is an excellent school and I was very happy to promote it when I was member of the Promo Team, Ambassador for Marocco and Representative in my first year.
